RR 21: The Circus Comes to Ferguson, Missouri

After an almost 10 hour delay, prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch from St. Louis, Missouri announced that the grand jury investigating the shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old, decided not indict police officer Darren Wilson. The ruling set off a wave of protests and rioting in the city of Ferguson that has lasted several days.

Mike and I discuss the circus-like atmosphere surrounding these unfortunate events and how the outrage over similar police shootings is building across the country.

Now, a not-so-gentle reminder that one should NEVER underestimate the power of a stand-up comic!

Bill-Cosby-head-bowed-11-17As the number of accusations from women claiming he drugged and raped them continues to climb, Bill Cosby and his legal team relentlessly and aggressively deny the allegations. Despite the denials, NBC and Netflix have pulled out of deals with the legendary entertainer and several of his stand-up performances have been cancelled. Comedian Hannibal Buress’ bit calling Cosby a rapist went viral recently reigniting interest in the abuse claims against “America’s Dad”.

RR 06: The Bromance Continues

According to reports Latinos are faring better financially than Blacks in the United States but in the race for income equality both minority groups have a long way to go to close the gap against Whites.

A Santa Ana, California school cop puts crying teen in a choke-hold, then yells at witnesses to stop speaking Spanish.  The stressed officer obviously had a limited grasp of the language but no need to worry! Mike Robles has a very reasonable solution to the problem of police officers and a second language.

PTSD and other mental health issues are a real concern for veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.  In a very emotional and moving segment, Mike makes the case for why we need to pay more than just lip service to the problems facing our soldiers as they return to civilian life after dealing with the rigors of war.

This week’s bochinche focuses on Rob Lowe and John Leguizamo. The former claims he was too pretty for Hollywood and the latter quietly backs away from claims that he’s Puerto Rican.

Both get the Robles & Rosado treatment.
